About CWLC

CWLC has been established in Canary Wharf for more than 15 years. It was created as a partnership between Canary Wharf Contractors and UCATT. The Canary Wharf Learning Centre provides lifelong learning, training, and skills in partnership with employers, community groups, and education providers, specifically for the construction sector.

Our award-winning learning centre encourages easy access to a range of courses, with qualified staff training and supporting learners, helping to improve their job opportunities and living and work standards. Improving basic skills and qualification levels in the industry is at the heart of what we do. It is our aim to achieve cultural change in the industry, overcoming the problems presented by a sub-contracting culture and a highly mobile workforce consisting of many non-traditional learners with a high level of training need.

Building Successful Partnerships

CWLC became an accredited centre for the delivery of NVQs with the awarding body NOCN (National Open College Network), and the delivery of short courses in the classroom, such as SSSTS, SMSTS, temporary works, and first aid. We are also accredited to partner with various colleges and funding brokers to access the funding available to us. To date this has been a successful partnership, as we have now completed more than 300 NVQs and more than 250 candidates have also completed site safety plus courses at the centre.
